Cartmel Grange
Cartmel Grange is a private residential nursing home situated on the edge of Grange-over-Sands. The magnificent building, originally built in 1914 as a convalescence home for miners, stands in mature, landscaped grounds which feature a bowling green and a grade II listed war memorial. Occupying one of the finest positions in the town and with commanding panoramic views over Morecombe Bay and the surrounding countryside.
We provide facilities for 61 elderly ladies and gentlemen, requiring 24 hour nursing or dementia care.
The building was converted to a nursing home in 1991 but has retained many of the original architectural features.
The home is divided into three floors with the middle floor specialising in caring for residents with nursing and dementia needs. All our rooms have en-suite toilet facilities, washbasins and modern furniture. Many rooms have spectacular views of Morecombe Bay or beautiful fell aspects. We have four lounges and a dramatic dining room. We provide a wide range of activities and have a minibus capable of taking wheel chairs which is used for shopping and theatre trips. We also have regular visits from musical societies, religious groups and have fetes and celebrate each significant day in the calendar with organised events.
